I remember especially liking a poetry writing project that was assigned when I was in 3rd or 4th grade. I was very proud of being a writer. I decorated the blue, three-prong notebook cover of my poetry collection with a BIG heart collaged from magazine photos of flowers.
That same love of poetry (plus nature, and of course, dogs) inspired my debut picture book, published by Tilbury House Publishers. Talented illustrator, Ángeles Ruiz, brought colorful magic to the pages and I couldn't have been more pleased!
I've also been honored to share poetry as a contributing poet through Pomelo Books and their "THINGS WE" series (ages 3-7) and "WHAT IS" series (ages 8-12). Pomelo Books generously
supports the IBBY Children in Crisis Fund.
